MEDA (2009-2013)
Programme heir to the results of a previous MEDA project (MEDA - ETE) in which the importance of the regional dimension in the policies for the development of the professional qualifications of the Mediterranean countries are identified.
On this basis, four countries are selected for their participation in the new project:
Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia and two key sectors of activity: tourism and construction.
This new MEDA programme is heir to the results of a previous MEDA project (MEDA - ETE) in which the importance of the regional dimension in the policies for the development of the professional qualifications of the Mediterranean countries are identified. On this basis, four countries are selected for their participation in the new project: Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia and two key sectors of activity: tourism and construction. The project will develop three main components:
Component 1: The exchange of experiences
Completion of two annual seminars to facilitate the exchange of information and experiences and the creation of a platform to share them. These are to be held in Turin, perhaps in June and November.
Component 2: A comparison of the qualifications structures in the selected sectors
The expected outcome of this component is the creation of a sectoral framework of Euro-Mediterranean qualifications. The idea would be to conduct a benchmarking of the vocational qualification systems of a few of the selected countries of Mediterranean Europe (Spain - FLC, France - CCCA - BTP, Italy - FORMEDIL), with the objective of designing similar qualifications structures for the beneficiary countries of the project.
Component 3: Monitoring the implementation of the national qualifications frameworks in the four countries.
Pilot phase in which, after defining the qualifications frameworks, the idea would be to implement these in the selected countries.
The Foundation participates in this project as a reference entity in the construction sector in Spain within the project by means of collaboration, in principle, in scheduled seminars and the provision of documentation, information and experiences.
